A short update

Finally we got the momster to do some much needed maintenance on our blog. She's not done yet, but at least now it's in progress. Like, she finally added Siris to the sidebar. It's about darn time, he's only been here 4 months now, geeeez!

Also if you look on our sidebar, you'll see some cool logos under the heading "small businesses we support". These are some really brilliant and talented husky mom's that are making their creations available for purchase. So if you're in the market for something unique, personalized, or delectable, please pay them a visit. Just click on the logo to visit their site.

Just some examples: the AO4 mom makes the most wonderful bags, she has several different styles, and is happy to accomodate your request for colors or themes. And you'll be able to tell everyone you have a KZK original! Here's a pic of Chili checking out the cool wolfie Ram-a-Lamb she made for our mom:
And for wonderful treats to delight your tongue and tummy, you really must visit Missy, MayaMarie & Bella's mom at the Happy Hearts site. Everypuppy who tries her cookies dance with joy, and will do just about anything for more! Here's a pic of Bama trying to wait patiently for mom to get the bag open.

Oh pups, I promise you, they are SO GOOD! You'll be able to smell the deliciousness as soon as your human brings the box through the door!
Then there are the clocks that Bama's boyfriends mom makes. She made us a really cool one for our sunroom, with a picture of all of us on it! You can send her your own picture, or choose one of the designs on her DNSBARTS Clock site. Lisa the Mean over at the D'Azul site has Summerwinds products available to keep you looking your very best, and Star & Jack's mom designs greeting cards. So if you're looking for some truly unique gift ideas, and want to support these blogging moms, please go visit their sites and check out what they have to offer.
Christmas is right around the corner, so you might find some great gifts and stocking stuffers!
We'll be back very soon. As soon as she finishes getting up the links to our friends sites, she's promised us to update and acknowledge the awards we've received since we've been awol. She's also promised us to try to update the look of our page, if she can figure out how to do it.

We know, we've promised that lots of other stuff would be on our next post, and actually our humom has taken our dictation for the post, she's just been really lazy about shaking the related pictures out of the camera. Something about having to deal with tropical storms and hurricane threats, and trying to herd 5 huskies on her own with dad out of town. We don't really see the problem, we are perfectly behaved angels who don't need to be herded anywhere!

But it just came to our attention that today is the official huzzie and studmuffin day. I believe our queen, Meeshka, will be posting links to all the x-rated photos during her blog of 100 posts, so you can click on her name to go see all the other husky porno pics. Please be cautious though, some employers frown on their employees looking at porn at work, so if you have the sicko kind of humans that enjoy husky porn, please warn them not to get fired. That could cut into your treat and toy budgets, and THAT would be a travesty! Without further ado, we present The River Hill Pack in all our nekkid glory!

Chili in all his glory

Cracker showing off his stuff

Immodest MikkiWell, it seems that either our humans aren't as perverse and twisted as somepups humans out there, or some members of the RHP are more modest than others, mom says she's looked at the hundreds of pics taken of us, but can't find a single porn shot of Bama or Siris. Ok, Siris hasn't been here that long, and it seems he's somewhat shy about showing his stuff, but I know I've seen Bama posing a time or 100, I guess the bipeds just weren't paying attention.

Now, go visit Queen Meeshka's blog to see links to all the other pups participating in this illustrious effort to help her raise money for husky rescue, and while you're there make sure to steal your humans plastic and pledge a donation.

Bye fur now,

We need an intervention

Our mom has a terrible addiction, and dad and all her friends are enablers. It's time for an intervention. We need a recommendation for a good rehab center, or program we can get her into, her excesses are really getting out of paw. If she keeps this up we're going to have to buy a bigger house.

She's a Huskaholic. It's sad but true. We told you about Osiris coming to stay with us until he could find a ride to his new home. Well.....about a week after he got here, she and dad were talking about how he fit right in, and how much dad loves him because he likes to cuddle with dad in bed, and she saw her chance, and pounced! Next thing we knew, she was talking to that nice Heather lady on the phone for two whole hours! They agreed that they were having a lot of trouble finding him a ride, and that Heather might be able to help another nice pup in a shelter closer to her if he's not there, how much she and dad love him and want him to stay, and all of the sudden, we're a pack of FIVE! Nobody asked ME if I wanted another brother!!

We can't give any details right now, she doesn't want to jinx it and nothing is even close to decided, but she was already working on a possible 5th addition before he got here, so if that turns out the way she hopes, we could end up being a 6-pack! When she mentioned that to dad, he said "Greatttt....then you'll start talking 12-pack, 18-pack & case!"

So....long story short, his name has been shortened to Siris, and he's here to stay. It wouldn't be so bad, but he took my spot in bed with dad. I refuse to share the bed, so I've been sleeping in the family room on the love seat. The only good thing I can see about having to share my dad time is that he keeps the Bamonster really busy playing all the time, and she doesn't have nearly as much time to chew on me anymore. That has been a blessing, as I've been her favorite chew toy for over a year. He's also the only one that can roll her over and hold her down while he chews on her, so it's kind of nice to see her getting what she's been dishing out evfur since she got here. He and Cracker came to a truce, and are getting along just fine now, as long as he remembers that when it comes to mom's cuddle time, Cracker comes first. Chili just ignores him, but that's nothing new, he pretty much ignores evfurrypuppy anyway as long as they don't try to get in his face or take his favorite spot on the couch.

I don't really mind him being here, he's very polite and tries really hard to get along with evfurrypuppy else, but somehow I always end up being low pup on the totem pole, I guess I'll have to start putting my dainty little foot down and demanding attention like evfurrypup else, but I really worry that her addiction has spiralled out of control. We lost all our lovely bones we had stashed around the house, we are on stuffy restriction to make sure nopuppy fights over toys, and I can't sleep in my own comfy bed anymore. If anypuppy out there knows of a good treatment center, please let us know before there are so many of us she can't remember all our names anymore! Or maybe there is a group for us to learn how deal with her addiction, anypup evfur heard of Huskanon? Seriously, I wonder if my sweet Jack-of-Hearts has room for me at his house, I liked it much better around here when evfurry night was a 3 Dog Night. My annoying sister was bad enough, but now things are just getting out of paw, and becoming a pain in my fluffy tail!

Mom & dad have taken lots of pictures in the last week or so, but haven't pawed them out of the camera thingy yet, so I don't have any new pics to share with you, but we'll get some up here soon, I pawromise! In the meantime, if you have any suggestions to help us break her habit, please let me know.

Welcome new pack member

OK, he's only a temporary member, but this here post is tuh introduce.....Osiris! Osiris is a victim of divorce. His mama couldn't keep 'im, an his daddy dint want 'im, so a nahce lady named Heather who lives in Illinois is gonna adopt him intuh her pack. It maht take her a little whahl to set up all the details of his transport, an his daddy wanted him gone immediately, so mama volunteered to puppysit til thuh transport details git worked out.

Osiris is 10 months old, an he's never gone tuh thuh vet afore yesterday. Mom picked him up, an took him straight tuh see our doc. He got his shots fur thuh first time ever, an mama says he got rilly lucky cuz he's heartworm negative, even though he ain't never been on any preventatives! He also checked negative for all thuh other nasty worms, but he does have an infecshin in his raht ear, so Dr. Athey gave mama some drops that she has tuh put inta his ear twahce a day. He still had his razor puppy claws, so he got a pedicure, an he has these really funny floppy dew claws on his back feet! Dr. Athey said that they can be removed real easy when he gets fixed (he doesn't look broke tuh us, but we all had tuh be fixed too, an none of us were broke neither).
Daddy was home with us afore mama brung him in, an he took us all out tuh the backyard afore they came in the house. Then they let us in one at a time tuh meet him. Ah was first, an we wagged tails an sniffed each other good, but Ah decided he was ok, considerin he could be competition for mama's affecshuns. Then Bama came in an they hit it off real well, Ah think mebbe he has a crush on our sister. Mama & daddy wasn't real worried bout Mikki or Chili, so they let both of 'em come in an meet him tuhgether. Then we all went out tuh the backyard for a good romp, rassle n sniff. Mama kep' his leash on fur a coupla minutes, but purty soon it was obvious that we all wanted tuh play a good game of tag, so she took it off an let us run an rassle an play. (He's purty fun, but y'all dint hear me say that!)
Soon we was all outta breath an thirsty, so everypuppy ran in the house fur a good long drink, an so we cud show him 'round the den. Everypuppy got along jes fahn, til he got a little too close tuh mah mama, then Ah put him in his place! Ah'm mama's heartdog, an he needs tuh earn the raht tuh get her 'ttenshun!! Mama broke it up raht quick though, an once she gave me lovins an told me Ah'm still her heart-dog, Ah calmed back down an figgered he aint really a threat.
About a half hour later, he foun a bone unner thuh coffee table that mama & daddy dint find when they wuz policing thuh house fur potenshul trouble-causers, an Chili got rilly nasty bout it, now poor Osiris has a booboo on his schnoz, but mama checked 'im an it dint appear tuh be serious. Daddy & she rechecked thuh house raht quick lahk tuh make sure there weren't no more bones or toys tuh cause any problems! We bin in & out several more tahmes, an don't tell anyone, but we've all figgered we kahnda lahke the new kid.

This here's a video of our first play session:

Here's a coupla pics of our first meet & greet play session. Osiris looks a lot lahk Mikki as far as his coat colors, but he's gotta open face insteada her strahkin mask an eyelahner.

Our next post'll be 'bout the new bag mama got, specially made for her bah the AO4's mama. It shoulda been this post, but we insisted that we wanted to introduce Osiris first.

Slurpy kisses,

Banning State Representatives

It came to our attention very recently that Ohio State Representative Tyrone Yates has introduced a bill in that state (http://www.legislature.state.oh.us/bills.cfm?ID=127_HB_568)
that will ban all pit bulls in that state. You can visit the link above to read the full text of the proposed law.
There are so many things wrong with this bill that we can never list them all, but at the top of the list is the fact that if this law passes, it will be up to the dog warden or other official to determine whether or not the dog is a pit, within 90 days of the law passing all pit owners will be forced to surrender their pets, and if a person is suspected or reported to have a pit they are subject to search and seizure of the dog. Finally, all pits seized or turned over willingly will be "humanely euthanized" within 10 days. This is horrifying, and a frightening example of government abuse of power. Our mom signed a petition here:
and when given the opportunity she added the following comment to her signature.

"I suggest that someone propose a bill that bans all OH representatives. Anyone found harboring a representative should immediately turn said rep. over to concerned pet owners to be humanely euthanized within 10 days. What? We shouldn't judge all lawmakers based on the actions of one misguided fool? Ridiculous, isn't it?
What madness is this? Who is to determine whether the dog is a pit or not? I'm not a fan of pits myself, but I staunchly defend the rights of any responsible pet owner to
1) not be terrorized by threats to their beloved pets based on prejudiced or fear based hysteria and
2) enjoy their rights to their privacy and property ownership afforded to all US citizens.

This insanity needs to stop. You can't judge a dog by it's breed any more than you can judge a human by the color of their skin. Any legislation regarding pit bulls (or any other breed) needs to be enacted on a case by case basis, not a law that bans and threatens to kill all members of a specific breed. If our representatives are brain-dead, perhaps we need to shock them back to cognitive thinking by threatening to remove them from their position of power. I thank God I don't live in Ohio, but if this law passes, I may wish I had, so I could add my voice to those raised in anger and disbelief against this elected lawmaker. If this law passes it will open up the door to representatives from other states to try something similar, pet owners everywhere, BEWARE!"
Pups, if you think this doesn't affect you, you better think again. If this law passes your breed could be next. And if this law passes, it will encourage other states to believe they can adopt similar laws. So please, for the sake of beloved furballs everywhere, go sign the petition so your voice will be heard and lawmakers will be put on notice that we won't stand for having our family members taken into custody and killed because of mass paranoia!
Climbing down off our soapbox now, but please....

The RHP and their mom

Tearful Goodbye and Gotchaversaries

We had planned to have mom type a post for us about our gotchaversaries this weekend, but then we got the sad, sad news about our dear friend Tasha. She and her sister Eva were among our very first friends when we started blogging, and we've always loved reading about them and their adventures. She hasn't been feeling herself for a while now, and her mom & dad have been doing everything they & the doctor could think of to make her feel better, and to try to find out what was causing it. We're very sorry to say that in spite of all the good wishes and prayers being sent from all their blogging friends, Tasha told them on Saturday that it was time for them to let her go. Bless their mom & dad for loving her enough, and understanding what she was telling them, to help her on her journey to the Rainbow Bridge. Please stop by their blog and remind them that they aren't alone, and that all the DWBers are thinking of them and Eva. We're sure they'll appreciate knowing how much we all loved Tasha, and love and care about them too.

Sweet Tasha, you were half husky, so wear your silver harness with pride beautiful girl, you've well earned it. If love could have saved you, you would have lived forever, and you will live forever in the hearts of all those you touched.

September 1997-May 24, 2008

Ok, maybe just bit about the 'versaries......

One year ago today, mom & dad found me in a flea market in Mobile, AlaBAMA, and I joined the River Hill Pack. Here are a couple of pics from my very first day. I didn't even get to meet the rest of my sibelings until the next evening when mom & dad brought me home to Florieduh.

Three years ago this weekend, my big brother Cracker joined the pack. Back then it was Granddogs Starr & Ice, and Chili was a little more than one year old. The granddogs were getting slower and didn't really want to play much any more, and mom & dad were worried about Chili being lonely, so they decided to get him a puppy of his very own. On the Friday before Memorial Day mom found a man down the road in St. Augustine, Florieduh that had some husky puppies for sale, so after she got off work she went home and got Chili and took him down to see if he would pick out his puppy (Daddy was on a fishing trip with his dad & brother in Mobile, AL.). The man called himself a breeder, but the conditions were deplorable, she found Cracker with 4 of his sibelings in a wire crate, sitting on top of a couple of plastic milk crates in the front yard, with a tarp thrown over the top to keep the rain out. Mommy was so upset she wanted to take all of them home, but had only brought enough money to buy one. Chili had absolutely no interest in any of the pups, but mom picked up Cracker, then each of his sisters and brothers. She was trying to make herself leave without a pup, knowing that she shouldn't encourage this man to breed more puppies, but she kept coming back to Cracker (she's such a sucker for babies!) Finally, she convinced herself that she could at least give one of them a better life, so she gave the man the money he wanted, signed and grabbed the paperwork, and ran with the boys to the Suberian Baja, just as the skies opened up with a terrible thunderstorm.

On the way home she was worried that he would be scared, between leaving his first home and all the lightning and thunderboomers going off outside the car, so she let him sit in her lap, but he wasn't scared at all. She had on a blouse that buttoned down the front, and he kept chewing on her buttons and unbuttoning her blouse. After about the 3rd time that she had to button back up, she looked down at him and said "You're just a little firecracker, aren't you?", and he had his name, Chili's FireCracker. When she got home and got the boys safely into the house, she called daddy and told him that we had a new addition to the family, and what his name was. Daddy said "Honey, we live in the south, I'm not sure it's P.C. to have a dog named Cracker, what if we name him FireCrackerJack and call him Jack?" So his name was lengthened to FireCrackerJack, but they didn't decide for sure what to call him until daddy got home, then after spending just a few minutes with him, he said "You're right, he's a Cracker alright!

So Chili got his Cracker, and Mikki's just glad they didn't name her Cheese, howroorooroo. Here are a couple of pics of Crackers first weekend. (Mom says please ignore the dirty ears & feet, he hadn't even had his first bath yet! Also for some reason the date on the photos is wrong, we're not sure how that happened....but we have about 2 years worth of pics that have funny dates on them!)

We hope you enjoyed our trip down memory lane and our baby pictures, it was kind of fun remembering how we came to be members of the RHP.

Also, please don't forget to stop by and share some love with Eva and her parents, our hearts go out to them, and we share in their tears and sorrow.

Love & slurpy kisses,

Bama, Cracker, Mikki & Chili

P.S. It's Memorial Day, please don't forget to say a prayer for all our service men & women who put their lives on the line every day, and for those who've given their lives to keep us safe and free. There can be no greater sacrifice, and we can never repay the debt we owe to all of them.

Tagged again....and again

Howrrooooo everypuppy!

We had to threaten to leave home and go find some other human that doesn't neglect us so shamefully before we FINALLY got mom to put up a new post for us, but she finally realized she'd made us wait way too long.

First up, it's me, Chili. I'm very proud to announce that the beawooootiful, amazing, gorgeous Dakota said yes! I'm not destined to spend the rest of my life lonely and wooing for a grrrl of my own. Thank you lovely Dakota, you've made me the happiest husky in the world, and I can't wait until we can take those long walks on the beach together.

We've been tagged by 2 of our fureinds to play the memoir game, by both Thor, and the Jack of Hearts (of Cyber-sibes fame). Cracker & I will play for Thor, and the girls for Jack. Here are the rules as quoted by Jack:

Write your own six word memoir.Post it on your blog and include a visual illustration if you’d like.Link to the person that tagged you in your post, and to the original post if possible so we can track it as it travels across the blogosphere.Tag at least five more blogs with links.Don’t forget to leave a comment on the tagged blogs with an invitation to play.

Since we're so happy just to have mom put up a post for us, we're gonna take it easy on her this time, and let her skip the pics except one to identify who is playing. Since I'm already dictating, I'll go furst.

1. Chuffy (chubby & fluffy)
2. Cuddly
3. Debonair
4. Supervisor
5. Groomophobic
6. Oldest

Cracker here, I guess I'll go next:
1. Gentlest

2. Televisionaholic

3. Fastest

4. Pickiest

5. Calmest

6. Flirtiest Mikki here, my turn, my turn:

1. Teflon

2. Eyeliner

3. Daintiest

4. Nibblekisser

5. Digger

6. ProtectorBama here, I guess I'm last, but never least:

1. Shy

2. Vocal

3. Persistant

4. Surfer

5. Singer

6. Kissiest

Wowoooo, that was lots of fun. We're not sure who to tag, cause everypuppy is so much better at blogging these days than we are, I'm pretty sure all our fureinds have already played. But....if you haven't played yet, consider yourself tagged!

We're not even gonna promise to do better about keeping our blog up, 'cause we're subject to the whims of our momster and she's been so busy lately that it's really hard to get her to sign in here. But before we go, we'd like to ask everypuppy to stop by Tasha & Eva's blog and send the grrrrls some love and good wishes. Our dear fureind Tasha has been having some really scary health issues, and lots of medical tests lately, her mom, dad & sister are all very worried about her, so please go visit and show them some love.

For everypuppy else that is going through health issues, just know that we're thinking of each and every one of you, and sending our sibe-vibes flying your way.

Until next time,

Many kisses & Husky hugs,

The River Hill Pack

How do you....

Get your human's to do your bidding? We've tried the Queen Meeshka's tactic of using the claw and the AO4's tactic of looking adorable. We've tried speaking Khyraese, but NOTHING is working! We just can't make her keep up with our blog and all our blogging buds! The only bidding she's doing is on the Ram-a-Lamb bag in the MaPaw auction on Ebay! This is getting completely ridiculous, and we're fed up with it, so it's mutiny on the RHP Bounty.

We know we have lots of awards that were given to us, but she won't get on the 'puter so we can acknowledge them, but we promise we will get to it.

We also know that we've been promising pics of our new & improved den, and we promise we'll get to that also.

If we start sneaking in here every time she takes one of her catnaps (we'd like to show her what we think of that, what's she doing napping when our blog is so neglected???), maybe we can get caught up on stuff without her help. What do we need her for anyway, except making sure we don't run out of meaty bones or treats? (and we've still got the dad to help out there, so.....come on, what should her punishment be?)

OK, just the most important business for now, we'll get to the other stuff soon, but matters of the heart must take precedence! It has recently come to our attention that we've been so neglected, that we're now in danger of being jilted by our loved ones! We know it's not their fault, they must think we've forgotten all about them, but please rest assured, that is NOT the case!

We heard a nasty rumor that the Jack-of-Hearts has been flirting with a beautiful little masked grrrl from Seattle even though she has a new boyfriend, and poor Mikki is just beside herself. And Cracker's love, Shelby-woo is considering throwing him over for a human man from Germany, shudder! We haven't heard a peep about Quincy, but he & Bama are still in the "starry-eyed, can't sleep without dreaming of you" phase, so hopefully that relationship is ok, though if the mom keeps neglecting us, there's no telling for how long.
But by far, the absolute worst, is that she hasn't let me respond to all the replies to Bama's last post when she put up my lonely-hearts ad! If I wasn't such a good boy, I'd bite her for being so rude to all those lovely ladies!! I'm truly humbled and honored by all the responses I got, but I have to admit, one special girl really made my heart go pitty-pat, she has such a great sense of humor, and sounds like she likes all the same stuff I do. So, though it saddens me to disappoint any of the beawoootiful girls that replied.....

I'd like to ask the gorgeous, wonderful, funny, gentle
Dakota if she will be my special girl. I promise to be faithful, true, and cuddly for as long as you'll have me, and I sincerely apologize for taking so long to ask you formally. Dakota, will you accept my paw in puppy-love?

(My eyes are shut tightly cause I'm praying you'll accept!)

Forever yours if you'll have me,

PS, the mean humom says I can't have Pina Coladas either, she & the doc said I have to go on an even more strict DIET! I hope that's not a deal breaker.

Love is in the AIR

Woowooo. I'm so excited everypuppy (and kitties)!

I know we've gotta claw the mom to get up pics of our den now that it's almost all done, but that's gonna have to wait til the next post.
Chili & I have been clawing mom to put up a post like Juneau's, cause Mikki & Cracker both have love interests, and we didn't. But look here! I've got a boyfriend!! And he's SO handsome, swoon! Mikki has been teasing me cause she has a boyfriend and I didn't, she said I was too big, & loud, & brassy for anyboy to like me, but she was WRONG. I guess that's how big sisters treat "little" sisters, but I was really starting to worry that noboy was ever gonna like me. So.....now I have a boyfriend too, I'm making it my mission to find a grrrl for Chili. Here is his "personal ad".
Short, slightly chubby but very fluffy and cuddly 4 year old boydog with lovely pale blue eyes, seeking fluffy lady sibe for long distance relationship. Must like to share meaningful woos, and lots of couch cuddling. See picture below. If you are interested in this lovable boy, please reply in our comments.

OK, now that's done, hopefully Chill will get lots of replies and grrrls to choose from just like Cosi did.

Now for the REALLY important stuff.
My dearest Quincy, this picture is for wooo!
I'm SO happy!!!
Big sloppy slurpy Manykisses for everypuppy!

Teaser pics

Howroo, everypup, kitty, birdy & your "peeps",

We know we promised our SMS pals some pictures of the house now that the floors are done, but mama's still working on the finishing touches, painting baseboards & trim, cleaning & sealing floors, etc, and they haven't moved any of the furniture back yet (our refrigerator is still plugged in the living room, for dog's sake!) So we decided since we can't show you pics of the house yet, that we would post these teaser pics. Mama came across some really cool husky prints on ebay a while back, and daddy told her she could buy them as long as she got them framed and hung, not just stuck in a closet somewhere for "someday". After they got our bedroom all put back together, she figured out that she had to move some pictures around because they just didn't work where they were anymore, and it left the wall above our bed with a huge blank space, so as soon as they were delivered she took them all to Michaels Crafts, and got really lucky, they were having a huge frame sale, 60% off custom frames, and 50% of stock frames, so she got them all framed to match. Somehow the guy that was helping her with her order got confused and ordered one too many custom frames. She had a beautiful picture of an angel that a friend had drawn for her & daddy as a housewarming gift, so she talked the nice people at Michaels into exchanging the extra unneeded frame, for one that would fit the angel. So without further ado, here are the teasers, sorry SMS'ers, mom says y'all will just have to wait until she can get everything clean again, and all the furniture put back, then we'll do a post so you can see the new floors and how our den looks, she's been working all day and into the night to try and get stuff done so we can get back to normal.
Here is a picture of the wall above our bed, where she did a grouping from the husky prints, our bed isn't usually so stark, but they were washing all our lovely sand out of the bedding:

Here are some close ups, the first one is titled The Big Chill, by an artist in England named Vic Bearcroft, daddy was having a hard time getting good pics because of the glare from the overhead light, or from the camera flash, so the pics look kind of dark:

This next one is called Chasing the Dream, also by Vic, sorry for the glare off the flash, it's a really dark picture and that was the only way dad could capture the details:

This next one is also by Vic, it's called The Usual Suspects and it is mama's favorite; look everybody, doesn't it look like us?

The next one is by a lady named Paula Zan, this one is titled "The Joy of Song". We got 6 prints by this artist, but daddy didn't take pictures of all of them. But in the first picture showing the group, they are from the top and left to right, Anticipation, Couch Dreams, So Relaxed, Happy Face, & The Joy of Song.

These next two just didn't fit into the grouping, so they are hanging on the wall where daddy's dresser is. This first one is also by Vic Bearcroft, it is titled "White Husky", mama thought it looked an awful lot like me, except for the blue eyes!

The last one is by Paula Zan, titled "Team Leader"

Finally, last but definitely not least, the wife of the guy that always worked on mom & dad's motorcycles, when they used to ride, is a fantastic artist named Barbara McDonald. One year she gave different angels to a lot of their friends, and it just happened to coincide with mom & dad's housewarming, so here is a picture of the beautiful angel she drew just for them. I don't know if you can see all the details, but she's wearing a very intricate lace apron, up close the detail that went into this drawing would amaze you. When you enter our hallway back to our bedrooms, this picture is hanging at the other end, so you can see it all the way down the hall. Isn't she beautiful?

Well, that's the end of our teaser pics, hopefully mom will get done with the finishing touches on the den so we can post pictures soon, we hope these will hold you over til then. We're closing with a picture daddy took of Cracker last weekend, cause we think it's so funny! This is our picture of Cracker gurning. If you don't know what a gurn is, do a google search, we thought mama had the best gurn in the house until we saw Cracker's, he's giving mom a run for her money!

Hope everybuddy enjoyed the pics, until next time;

Ongoing Home Destruction

Howroo everypup & kitty,
Some of our SMS buddies have been asking for some pictures of the destruction going on in our house. So, even though it's not done yet (we are getting close) we decided to give you a little taste.
Look who came to see us. It's A. Drill and his buddy A. Screwgun! They helped our tile guy secure the concrete backer board before the tile started going in. Those guys sure have been getting around lately. Wonder where they're going when they leave Florie-duh.

Next is a picture of Mikki Saying "hi" to A.Drill . That is Cracker's tail in the bottom of the picture, he's introducing himself to A. Screwgun.

Here is a close up of the new tile that is going in, it's called "Canyon Slate" Mama picked a dark gray grout cause she said we make it really hard to keep the grout clean, so now she won't be able to see how dirty we get it.

Here is Cracker checking the new floor, he said "Ah jest hadta check ta make shur the lines were straight". The spots on the picture are dust on the camera lens, our mom's not that bad a housekeeper.

And finally, we leave you with a picture of Cracker enjoying the cool new floor, and doing his best Pippa twisty paws impression
We're almost done, all that's left is the kitchen & laundry room, mom & dad pulled up the last of the old tile yesterday. We'll post some more pics after everything is done and we can put our furniture back where it belongs. The tile is nice and cool, but sometimes a puppy wants to nap on their couch, we're just ready to have our old den back, with all our furniture back where it belongs.
While mom was pulling out tile yesterday she had her Ipod and was singing along. Mama can't carry a tune in a bucket, but Cracker and I both love her singing, Cracker came over and nose bumped her, which is his way of giving a kiss, then I went over and pushed her down in the corner and held her down while I gave her many sloppy wet kisses to tell her how much I loved her singing. Daddy said he thinks maybe we thought she was hurt and crying and we were trying to make her feel better, but we just love it when she sings.
Well everybuddy, that's about it for now, if you need somewhere else to visit, why don't you go check out the wolves blog & site. While you're there, steal your mama's plastic thingy and send them some money. Unless you happen to be in Colorado, then just stop by and lend a hand if you can, that would be a huge help.
Bama (& the rest of the pack)
PS, mom apologizes for the way this post is spread out, she tried 3 times to fix it, but it just keeps getting more spread out instead of less, and she's afraid if she messes with it any more it's going to end up running off the page.

Thursday, January 17, 2008

I'm going to keep this very short & sweet, but hopefully you'll remember a couple of posts ago, my plea for help for the wolves in Colorado. They now have a blog of their own, you can go visit them at:
Please help spread the word, the more people that know about it, the more likely that they'll get the help they need & deserve!
Thank you in advance everypuppy, kitty, and your 2-legged slaves.

Home Destruction continues...

First off, we'd like to thank Miss Hollybollybananaboo & Team Husky for this award they gave us:

The Jack of Hearts of Cyber Sibes fame also sent this award to our Mikki.
Thank woo all so much! We'd like to share this award with all of our blogging friends that haven't already received it, each and every one of woo makes our day brighter, and helps us to feel better when times get tough. Thank woo, each and every one of woo!

Next we'd like to reassure our good friend Pippa, yes we are all okay, but due to the ongoing destruction in our house, our computer was out of commission all last week. We finally got it back up and running again yesterday. Something goofy happened to our modem when mama disconnected it and when we got it all hooked back up we couldn't get online. So the nice people at AT&T sent out a tech-guy who hooked us up with a new modem, now we should be good to go. After he left mom spent most of the day putting the rest of our office back together, then she and the Boogieboy went shopping. She had promised to get him memory cards for his new digital camera & his new Playstation he got for Christmas. When they got home he wanted to play with his Webkinz Siberian Husky, HotRod, online, so mom really hasn't had a chance to get in here and get a post up for us until today. It seems that the worst is behind us, at least we're able to spend time with him on the weekends, and will have him again all of next weekend, as the dad is in charge of booking & scheduling bands to play at a music festival going on at our Metropolitan Park next weekend.

Finally the back half of our house is done, the bedrooms, bathrooms & office are back to normal, but the front half of our house is a mess! Our tile guy is gonna start in our family room tomorrow, so mom & dad moved out all the furniture today. We like having the big open space to play in, but our couch, loveseat & chair are all gone! We don't know where we're going to sleep & lounge!

Daddy still hasn't had an opportunity to get on the 'puter, so we still haven't got any new pics uploaded, but promise we will have in time for our next post. In the meantime, we have to tell you about our new Husky Pawty Room & Hangout! In our last post we told woo that mom had a project going on in our sunroom. Well...she was concerned that we couldn't be left out there unsupervised cause somepuppy figured out that they could go through the screens very easily, and if they went through into the sideyard they could then dig under the fence and escape. So in the middle of the tile job she got our handman guy to build us some cool louvred panels to fit into each screened section. She had 3 stained glass windows that hung out there, and he built 3 of the panels with openings in the middle so the windows could be mounted and secured. These only come up about halfway in the screened sections, but are now too high for anypuppy to rip out the screen & escape. Then they replaced our rickety screen door with a new steel mesh security door, and voila!, we have a beawootiful, secure & husky proofed room to hang out in, that has a cool tile floor & ceiling fan to keep us comfy in all kinds of weather. Some of you pups might remember the post of the mosaic sun that Chili helped mom design for the floor out there, that's always been our favorite room, but now we can hang out and pawty without having to have the skinslaves present to spoil our fun. We can't wait to show woo all the pictures of our pawty room, if any of woo pups are ever in Jax, FL, woo're all welcome to come hang out & pawty with us! Mama says we have to share with her, cause it's her favorite room in the house too, but so far we haven't had to share much, she doesn't get much time to just go out there & relax, except maybe with the occasional glass of adult grape juice late at night. She said that after all the destruction is complete she & dad might have some friends over to cook out & play cards out there, we suppose we can share for that, as long as we get some of the tasty stuff off the grill!

Next we want to thank all our friends who've donated to the wolfies, and who've put links on their pages to the donation site. Mama talked to Jacqueline on Friday, she is a very cool & caring lady who is extremely knowledgable about lots of stuff about wolves & medical care, mama says she deserves all the help we can give her. We just wish we didn't live so far away from Colorado so we could help her more, and get to know our ancestors! She said she has lots of very cool, one-of-a-kind wolfie stuff that can be sold to raise money, so mama is going to try to find out how to post the stuff on ebay to be auctioned off, more news to come about that as soon as mama figures out how to go about it, so keep checking back for more news. We'll be posting pictures & links as soon as we can get it all set up for her.

Finally, we just learned about the sad loss of Durango, his poor mama, Marilyn has had such bad luck & sad times with her pups in the last year, losing Dakota last spring, Thrawn right before Christmas, and now her beawootiful new baby Durango. Please go to their page, at:
and share some love and sympathy. Nobody should have to go through the losses she has in such a short time, and nobody is more caring or loving to her pups than she is, our hearts are breaking for her, and for her pack, but we're sure it helps her to know how many pups and skinslaves are out there sending love and caring about her and her babies. Little Durango, run free, North of the Rainbow Bridge, wear your silver harness with pride, and know that all the blogging doggies & their humans are sending their love to woo & wour pack, woo stole our hearts in the short time we had to get to know woo.

Well, guess we better let mama get back to the home destruction duties, we still have some old tile in the kitchen & laundry room that needs to be removed before the new tile can go in, it can't be soon enough for us. Mama says with all the dust that's been stirred up removing old tile & grouting the new tile that she can't even find the furniture under the thick coating of grime on everything, she's even more ready than we are to have this done & behind us so she can get our den cleaned and dusted, and back to normal!

Kisses to all our blogging buds, we've missed woo all very much!

Thank DOG 2007 is Behind Us!

Okay, first for an update, and much needed thank you's.
Daddy bid his final farewell to his mom, and is back home now, though we hated having to say goodbye, we know that she's finally at peace in the arms of the lord, and is watching over us. We can think of no better soul to be our guardian angel, she was truly an inspiration and provided mom with much insight into being a better mom and grandmother, her wisdom & grace provided a roll model that will never be forgotten. She was truly a "Steel Magnolia".

Now for the BoogieBoy update. First, huge thanks to all those out there sending Sibe Vibes our way, your prayers and kind thoughts were a huge help to mama, and the power of the Sibe Vibes should never be questioned, our situation is living proof that they work! Our skin-sister Sam & her 3 kids stayed here with mama while daddy was taking care of business in AL, she is Boogies natural mother. She's stayed out of the picture so far because as she said "I know that he spends almost every weeekend with you, and this is the best place for him". However, due to the recent events and worries, she has decided to get back involved, and is in the process of getting the case back into court in front of a judge to try to have visitation and custody modified so she'll have some say so into his care and decisions regarding his education & welfare. Mom has offered to help in any way she can in the meantime but she'll be working behind the scenes so as not to put our contact with him in further jeopardy.

All of your prayers & Vibes have made a world of difference! While Sam was here, she got a call from the dad on Christms night & he wanted to know if she was staying wih us. He told her that she could come pick up the Boogie as long as she stayed here with him. The day after Christmas mama got a text message from the dad asking if she wanted to keep him for a few extra days, of course mama jumped on the chance. Our Boogie was here through Sunday, and we all had a wonderful time with him. He loves the new tile and rearranged furniture in his room, somehow he gained extra space, and his room looks much bigger, not to mention cleaner! Mom had a long talk with the dad, and he complained about feeling "betrayed", and "pressured into putting him into a different school", so decided to remind us who is boss. Our mama isn't very good at butt-kissing, but we're very proud of her, she's putting forth a really good effort, and in the meantime supporting Sam in every way possible in her endeavors to get the court to pay attention when nobody else has seemed to care or see anything wrong with his situation. In the meantime she's on her best behavior with the dad, and doing everything possible to insure that we stay a part of his life so we can continue to monitor and be informed of what is going on with him.

Next item we need to tell y'all about is a non-profit organization that mom has volunteered to help out on. She's going to be helping to ghost write a blog for them, and it will be easily accessible from our page. Please look on the right sidebar for a link to the CareAgain wolves, under the "Organizations we Support" list, go check out their website and while you're there make a donation if you can. Or you can click on the badge above to take you directly to the donation site. The angel-lady that is in charge of caring for them, feeding & providing them with a natural setting where they can be safe & protected, and battling against those who "dont want them in my neighborhood", has been really struggling to get a fence built around their new home , 10,000 acres of beautiful natural land backing up to a wildlife preserve. This wonderful lady has struggled endlessly to provide "her" pack with as close to a natural setting as possible so they can just be wolves. If anyone out there is in Colorado and has time to volunteer to help on the fence, we know it would be more appreciated than you can imagine, poor Jacqueline is working herself ragged 16-18 hours per day just trying to keep up with the wolves needs & single-handedly get the fence built. If you can donate a few dollars to the cause, they have 501c3 status, and all donations are tax-deductible. We're also welcoming any suggestions if anyone has any thoughts on other organizations or groups that might be willing to lend a helping hand. Please feel free to include a link on your pages, or to copy the badge above to send folks to the donation site. Mama says it's very important for us to care for and support our ancestors, they've helped to make us who we are, so please help spread the word!

Finally, our tile guy is ready to start on our office this week, so we're going to be losing our computer access for a few days, probably starting Thursday or so. but we promise as soon as we're up and running again, we'll get back into the swing, we've got lots of new pics to share with everypup. For now though we've got to go, mom's gotta get some sleep, so she can start moving furniture and finish a project that is going on in our sunroom right now. We can't wait to show you the pics of everything that has been going on 'round here. and our visits from A. Drill, A. Saw, and A. Sander, just to mention a few.

Hope everypup, kitty & their humans had a wonderful Christmas, and a very Happy New Year.
Happy 2008 kisses & hugs,
The River Hill Pack

Thanks to everyone who voted in our jukebox poll, we're so glad everypuppy likes our music, and thank you to everypup who gave us Christmas kisses under the mistletoe!
