Whooohooo, I didn't think we were ever going to make it back online. Mom & Dad have been monitoring from remote locations when they could, and tried to remember to tell us when we got messages from all our new friends, but they're old, and their minds are going....if they lived in dog years, they'd already be dead, so they have to be excused for their lapses, I guess....Both of their bosses frown on blogging from work, and even when Dad is in AlaBAMA (I love that!), he says he's there to help take care of his mom, not play on the computer. It took a lot of claws, bites, and whines to get him to leave that last message.
We're so far behind, it'll probably take us a while to catch up, and go visit all our new friends on their blogs, but I promise we'll get there, or mom's legs will look like hamburger! I'm gonna be working on Dad, too. He needs to get some new pictures of me on our new 'puter, cause I sure don't look like that sweet little lamb anymore. I'm only about 1/2 inch shorter than Mikki now, (I'm 14 weeks, she's 14 months), and she probably only outweighs me by 10 lbs or so. Mom says if weeds grew as fast as I am, you wouldn't be able to see our house! They are now operating under the assumption that I'm husky mixed with giraffe, (with rabbit ears, and great dane feet thrown in for good measure)......
The rest of the pack better look out, I'll be twice as big as all of them by the time I'm 6 months, then I'll really be able to start enforcing my will on everyone, if they don't like it I'll just sit on 'em.
There hasn't been much going on around here lately, mom is back to work after a short disability leave, so we're back to our old routine of spending most of the day in the laundry room. I have a crate in there (to protect me when I was littler than everyone else), and the rest of the pack has the rest of the room. I liked it better while mom was home all day and we could make her take us outside every 15 minutes, but it's not toooooo bad, Dad says his work is only 5 minutes from home, and he comes home every day for lunch, and to take us outside, and then we make him bribe us with tasty bites of hot dog to get us back into our laundry room for the afternoon. After reading one of Meeshka's blogs I made mom go get us each a Kong, and tasty stuff to put in them, so at least now we have nourishment to help us survive all those torturous hours in confinement! (Did you feel the "OH, Woe is me" I heap on the human slaves every time they come home??? I hope so, I've been working really hard at perfecting my techniques!)
Our Boogie boy has been over the last 2 weekends in a row, so that's helped get through the puter illness, too. We hadn't seen him in a few weeks while mom was in Chicago, & dad's been back and forth to AlaBAMA, so we REALLY missed him, it's so much fun around here when we have our boy to play with!
Mom said she had a great time at the Eric Clapton Crossroads Guitar Festival in Chicago, and that she got to listen to lots of great music, by lots of great Blues players, but I'll never understand how she could fly halfway across the country to hear music, when we sing so beautifully for free every night in our own kitchen. Humans are SO weird! At least she logged on for me and helped keep Meeshka company for the final stretch of the blogathon, I was gonna push her out of the bed when she got home if she hadn't! Now she's trying to reach the Harnessed to Hope folks to honor our pledge, when the old 'puter died she lost all of her info to paypal, (and everything else she had stored for the last 6 years) and she can't log in to send her money. Not only that but she said someone stole her identity and has been buying lots of stupid stuff with her plastic cards, so now she's scared to transmit sensitive info online, even on "secure" sites. (If I find the jerk that's trying to be my mom, I'm gonna sick the whole pack on him!!! It won't be pretty!!!) I guess I'll have to chew on her ankles until she sends them an old fashioned check by snailmail, cause she said she got caught by an automated phone system when she called. I don't know what that means, but I wish she could get one of the human slaves at HTHNBR to call her back, she promised me she would think about buying us one of their Pretty Sled Dogs DVD's.
Our electronics seem to be trying to start their own HULA rebellion, (I guess that would be EULA?), our DVR mysteriously sent our Iditarod, Breed all About it- husky edition, and wolf programs to the other side of the Rainbow Bridge or something, all of our favorite programs just disappeared, about the same time our old 'puter died. I'm warning everyone now, watch those sneaky 'tronics, they're out to get us!
Gotta go, dinner's ready. I promise to keep this updated now that we're back, and I'm looking forward to visiting all our new friends sites. Until then, playbows and manykisses,
Love,
Bama

Sick Computers
Hi to all of the Bamonster's new friends,
This is the Monster's humDad sitting in for the HuMom for this post. Bama wants all of her new friends to know that she apologizes for not being able to respond to the recent posts you have sent to her. The computer has had a major meltdown back at the den of the RiverHill Pack. I am posting this 400 miles west of the Pack at my own HuMom and HuDad's home in L.A. (Lower Alabama, that is). Bama just loves it when we say anything "Bama". We hope to have the stupid thing replaced and be back online in the next 7-10 days. Bama wants to send greetings to all her new friends, as well.
Until then....a big WOOOOOOOOoooooooo to all from the Southern Command of HULA.

Taking over the V.E.T's office
Howwwwrrrooooo, Everyhusky,
I can't help myself, I just have to tell you all about our day! It actually started last night, when mom took all our harnesses into her special, personal bathroom, and left them in there. Duhhhh, like we can't figure out something us up? Hello! Just cause we're furry doesn't make us stupid!
So this morning, as we're wandering in and out of the bedroom, she'd call us 1x1 into her bathroom, and put our (color coded) harnesses on.
After everyone was dressed, she went and put clothes on herself. Stupid humom put on black pants......) but before she even got back out into the front room, Chili had stripped himself of his harness using the "chew-thru" method, and was working in Crackers, so he had to used just his leash as a slip/choke collar.
Finally, we all got out the door and into the car, just to travel the few blocks to the V.E.T place. Mom and Dad made us all wander around outside until they were ready for us, they said the people in the waiting room and the poor vet techs definitely weren't ready for us....."wait'll they get a load of us" seemed to be the most popular phrase with our humans....
Mikki had a nasty bug bite over her right eye, and the vet gave her pills, a shot, and some ointment.
Next was my turn, my next set of puppy shots and a microchip. I don't know exactly what that is, but that was one BIG nasty needle!! I squeeled like a baby and made everyone feel really sorry for me! Mom said she's sorry, but I'll only have to get that shot one time, and it will help me get back home if I ever get lost, so I guess I'll forgive her, this time....
I turned 12 weeks old on Monday, and I weigh 28+ lbs, mom, dad & the doc all said I'm gonna be a REALLY big girl, but I could have told them that, I have no intention of going through life with these oversized feet and ears so I'm just gonna have to grow into them, however long it takes...besides, how can I rule the pack if I can't use my superior strength and size to intimidate them?
Cracker was there for his annual check up and shots, and I'm afraid I'm going to have to bite the doc for trying to make time with MY boyfriend. He was all gushy, and oohed and aahed over what a gorgeous boy dog he is. Well, duh! Did you think I was going to pick a loser?
Finally, Chili was mostly there for moral support, (and to make sure he didn't eat all the walls in the laundry room if he was left behind alone), but they did make him get on the scale, and he's back up to 53 lbs. That might not seem like much, but he's kinda short, and doc says he really shouldn't be more than 45 lbs at the most. He was 46 at his last weigh-in, down 8 lbs from his previous 54, so time to kick his diet back into high gear. No wonder he finds big boned fluffy girls so cute! Mom says they're gonna have to keep a closer eye on him to make sure he's not cleaning out the rest of our leftovers after his bowl is empty.
Finally we got out of there, and back home, and mom took our clothes off before Chili could destroy them, and we thought that was the end of events for the day, but then she got out the slicker brush......
Seems her friend she's going to see in Chicago has master named Sheba, and she's been great friends with Chili and Cracker since they were little. Seems when the skinslaves get together, they usually travel by car, which means the masters get to see each other and catch up. Well...since she's flying in an airplane this time, we all have to stay home, so even though they weren't happy about it, Chili and Cracker insisted that she take messages to Sheba for them. She brushed out the smell spot on each of our tails, to get as much info as possible (have we got her trained right, or what?), and placed each tuft of fluff into a plastic baggie to take with her. Mik's not shedding at all right now, so she only got about 4 hairs from her, but she said it will have to do, especially since Mikki's never even met Sheba except by huskytales from the boys.
Mom said the TSA officials will probably want to place her in a rubber room for smuggling dog hair on the airplane, but I'm sure their dogs will explain it to them.....
Mom won't type for me anymore tonight, she says if she doesn't get to bed soon she won't make her flight, so guess I have to go for now, but I'll talk to you all again soon.
PSA announcement:
Did you go pledge all your humans $$ to Meeshka's heroic efforts this weekend? Time's running out, and you don't want to make me mad......they say I'm going to be a horse! That's okay with me as long as I get to keep my claws and teeth.....GGGGRRRRRRRRR. Go Pledge!
manykisses,

About us.....
My name is Bama, and mom & dad rescued me from a flea market vendor in Mobile AL on Memorial Day weekend, 2007. I came home to find I was just the latest, (definitely not the least) member in a pack that now numbers 8. Four future HULA members (hopefully....), two 2-legged slaves we call mom & dad, and 2 granddogs who now live on the other side of the Rainbow Bridge, but will always have a place in our home and hearts. We also have a part-time 9th member, Boogie, who is the 2-legged grandpuppy of mom & dad, and our favorite boy ever! He usually comes to visit us almost every weekend, and has his own room in our house, full of fun stuffies, but mom & dad won't let us in there when he's not here. (big meanies!)
My big sister Mikki just turned 1 year old in April, and she's a sweet and gentle girl who is trying very hard to teach me some manners, but since I'm the future queen of the pack, I pretend not to listen to a thing she says, why would I take orders from my favorite chew toy?? Mom & Dad got her in North Georgia 1 year ago this month, they thought that having a girl in the house might teach the boys some decorum, but they are almost as rough on her as I am. We're all just trying to get her to stop worrying so much, for her own good, although I think worrying must be ingrained into her nature.
My future boyfriend Cracker turned 2 at the end of March, mom got him from a "breeder" down the road in St. Augustine FL (the oldest city in the US, for you history buffs). It was very similar to her adoption of me, she said the guy didn't deserve money, he deserved to be beat, and if she'd have been able to, she would have adopted all his sibs, too. They decided that since the granddogs were getting too old to play with, or tolerate Chili, that he needed a puppy of his own to keep him company and in shape. (round is a shape, heehee). He got his name because he was sitting on mom's lap on the ride home, and he kept unbuttoning her shirt with his teeth, she finally said "You're just a little firecracker, aren't you?", after the 4th or 5th time of covering herself back up, and he became Cracker before they ever even reached home.
Chili turned 3 in January, and he was a birthday gift for Boogie's 8th birthday. They thought that since Starr and Ice were getting so old and lazy, that maybe a puppy would put some spring back into their steps, (and it worked for a while!), and that Boogie was here so much of the time that he needed a puppy of his own. Smart humans, every boy needs a puppy, just as every puppy needs a boy! Thank Dog Chili shares his boy with all of us cause he's the best boy ever, even if he does tend to favor Chili, he makes sure never to forget the rest of us and share the love and fun.
Starr was a Christmas present from mom to dad in 1991, and neither of them had any idea what they were getting into with a husky, but Starr trained them well, and before 1 year was up, she convinced them that they needed another husky to keep her company. Ice was moms birthday gift, in September of 1992, and that, as they say, was the beginning of the end. The slaves were completely enamored, and swore the rest of their lives and fealty to huskies forever after.
I just have to tell you about Mikki's latest success at freaking mom out. We were all completely convinced that nothing in the world could scare her, when Cracker brought snakes into the house, she calmly picked them up and put them in her garden out front, to deter the squirrels and grasshoppers. She's taken away rats, possums, squirrels, birds, and lizards without blinking an eye. But last night Mikki found her weakness! Our backyard wraps around the side of the house up to the gate, and there are lots of bushes on that end of the house. At night the spiders start building their silken traps between the bushes. Last night Mikki went around that side of the yard, and was scratching and pawing at the fence (she must have smelled something tasty on the other side), and she wouldn't come in until mom came & got her. Well.....when mom started walking between the bushes, she walked face first through some poor spider's web, and we were rolling on the ground laughing as she danced and jumped around the yard brushing at her hair and clothes. She got aggravated and told us it wasn't funny, it wasn't natural, anything with that many legs should only exist in horror movies, but there wasn't even a spider on her, just the web! It was SO funny, Mik tried it again tonight, but mom went and got a flashlight and a stick to knock the webs down before she walked through there, poor spiders, all that work for nothing....
I guess that introduces all of us, and gives you a little of our history, more details to come after Meeshka's big event next weekend. By the way, did you go pledge all of your human's money yet? Hello!!! What are you waiting for??? We furballs have to stick together and support one another, you know? Stop napping and go get those donations! I told our queen that I thought she would reach $2500, don't make me look any sillier than I already do trying to grow into these big feet of mine, go show your support for exploding furballs in need!
Talk to you again after the blogathon, power to the HULA hoop!
